A Little About Me

Who am I?

That’s the immortal question asked by everyone, especially Jackie Chan in his movie by the same name. Sometimes it can be difficult to answer, other times not so hard. But I don’t want to waste your time telling you my life story. I’ll just hit some high points and maybe point you to places where you can learn more, if you would like.
I am a native Utahn living in Oregon. My wife and I moved here following a spiritual prompting. I’ll touch on that in more detail in another post. For now, understand that the move was a fortunate one and has been very beneficial to our family.

I am a web designer by trade and enjoy working with computers and creating websites. By night I’m an ambitious writer working on a series of novels based on the characters of the Book of Mormon. Did I say I was ambitious?
When not writing or designing websites I spend my time with my wife camping during the summer, going on drives around this beautiful area and going to the movies. A lot. We are somewhat movie aficionados and have a pretty good collection of DVDs at home.

I myself am a motorcyclist, enjoying long rides on winding roads through breathtaking scenery all by myself or with other bikers. I love reading and have my favorite series that I re-read every so often, such as: The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, the Dragon Prince and Dragon Token trilogies by Melanie Rawn and the Dragonlance Chronicles series by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weiss. Just to name a few. I’m also a sports fan, especially football, and still cheer for my Utah Jazz, BYU Cougars and Indianapolis Colts.

I was also recently diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. While the doctor said, “If you had to choose a cancer to have, this is the type you should choose,” it’s still cancer and comes with all associated risks. The only advantage of this kind is really that it is not treated with chemo therapy. Instead they use a radioactive iodine that attacks just the bad thyroid cells that are left after the thyroid itself has been removed. We’re in for the long haul to fight and overcome.
